On the Glade

Wild Blue Indigo with Yellow Indian Paintbrush on Missouri Glade

Click to purchase images

A unique combination of plants can be found on a glade. The Blue Wild Indigo and a Yellow Indian Paintbrush are among those that grow in the rocky landscape. The glades exist because the rocky core of the Ozark dome is shallow, or sometimes completely exposed on the flat surface of the land. Plants and animals that adapt to glades will remind you of the desert or prairies.
