One of the early sights in the midwest farm lands are the purple fields of spring. Often before the fields are plowed and planted the tiny purple wildflower (a weed actually) the hen bit takes hold. Although the tiny intruder can be a menace to some, it allows the sense to bathe in the joy of spring.
