A Walk in the Woods

Walking in the woods is always a healing experience. For many walking in the woods brings back memories of carefree days. To hear the sound of leaves under foot, feel the sweet breezes and smell the earth is therapeutic to say the least. In the spring when the Bluebells and Blue Eyed Marys are in bloom, these walks are almost magical. Images like these of nature in a healthcare setting help evoke healthy outcomes. Restorative images help reduce a sense of isolation and encourage positive memories. As John Muir said “and into the woods I go, to lose my mind and find my soul”.
