Texture in a natural landscape contains layers of life. Often there are hundreds of different individuals coexisting. Different types of plants and creatures living together in one space. Artist and landscape artist use texture to divert the viewers focus. They engage the viewer in a visual scavenger hunt. Creating a sort of “Where’s Waldo” affect. Texture can influence moods and perceptions. For example, soft smooth surfaces are generally associated with pleasant emotions. Textures can help to uplift the viewers spirits during uncertain times.
